Dear Customers, Employees, and Suppliers:
First of all, we would like to thank you all for your continued support of Brewer-Hendley Oil Company and Market Express. We wanted to reach out and let you know that we are responding to the developing situation concerning the COVID-19 (coronavirus). We have listed below some of the proactive steps we are currently taking in order to keep everyone safe and healthy. As the situation evolves, we may implement additional preventative measures to ensure the well-being of everyone. We want to assure you that in times of uncertainty, the safety of everyone remains our highest priority. Our proactive steps include:
- Encouraging sick employees to stay home.
- Cleaning and sanitizing our facilities routinely, especially the high touch points.
- Ensuring that gloves, hand sanitizer, and bleach cleaner are available throughout facilities.
- Emphasizing respiratory/coughing etiquette.
- Encouraging thorough hand washing and/or hand sanitizing.
- Requiring all office staff to work from home, when feasible.
- Canceling, until further notice, all business-related travel and community events.
- Developing a COVID-19 infectious outbreak plan.
At Brewer-Hendley and Market Express, we are taking preventative measures to ensure customer and employee safety, including possible staffing modifications. We will increase time spent cleaning and sanitizing frequently used areas such as check-out areas, doorknobs, workstations, restrooms, etc.
At Brewer-Hendley, we are managing our inventory levels along with our production schedules to ensure that we can continue to meet demand. We have teams working closely with our suppliers to ensure the products you need are available. We are taking all steps possible to prevent any disruption. We are asking our suppliers to help us to reduce the risk of exposure to our employees and customers as well. If you have drivers who are sick or exhibiting signs or symptoms of illness, please do not allow them to come to our facilities. It is our hope to minimize the potential of one of our employees encountering the virus, therefore ensuring we play our role in minimizing the risk of spreading the infection. Drivers who arrive at our sites and are suspected of being ill, could be turned away.
At Market Express, while we have always been proud of the cleanliness of our stores, we will work to clean and sanitize them even more now. We are deep cleaning the entire stores and sanitizing high touch areas, such as the sales/deli counters, doorknobs, restroom handles, pin pads, etc. every 2 hours. Within the food service area, we have increased our already strict procedures and are working with the local health departments to ensure food safety as well as hygiene through cleaning and sanitation. We closely follow the FDA requirements, often going above and beyond these.
We encourage our customers, employees, suppliers to review and follow the recommendations of the Center for Disease Control (CDC). The website is listed here: https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/index.html
Thank you in advance for your support and understanding during this rapidly evolving situation as we make every effort to support our employees, suppliers and customers.
Sincerely,
Nance Hendley, Buddy Brewer, and Brad Brewer
